The family shop which gave birth to Mangibene

The legacy of Italian food - our Story

The Mangibene story dates back to 1925, when Violante Manni and Bernardo Stagnoli left Bagolino, home of the largely celebrated and delicious Bagòss cheese.

They settled down in Verona, where they opened a food shop equipped with a wood fired oven to bake fresh bread and cakes.

Building on the successful legacy of their parents, Violante and Bernardo’s children decided to follow in their parents’ footsteps. They improved their portfolio of products, introducing the flavours of Abruzzo, which proved very popular in particular given the heritage of Attilio Berardi, Claudia’s husband, one of the two daughters of Bernardo and Violante.

Having grown up surrounded by the aroma of Italian cheeses, salumi and freshly baked bread, their son Alessandro couldn’t escape his destiny. He took on his parents business and in 1998 launched Mangibene, one of the first to offer artisan food on the web.

In 2012 Alessandro decided to pass the responsibilities of Mangibene on to Dominik and Stefan, two brothers and entrepreneurs who share the same passion for artisan Italian food and wine, to continue the Mangibene legacy.
